Financial Counseling

University of Florida faculty, staff and students across Florida can receive one-on-one financial counseling through UF/IFAS Extension Family and Consumer Sciences. To learn more and apply, visit the UF/IFAS Extension website.

Tax Preparation

UF/IFAS Extension offers free tax preparation for employees across the state through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). IRS-Certified tax preparers help taxpayers file taxes quickly and easily.

In addition to VITA, the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program offers free tax help, particularly for those 60 years of age and older, specializing in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors. TCE sites are operated by the AARP Foundation’s Tax Aide program.

Visit the IRS website to find a VITA, TCE and AARP site near you.

In addition, the IRS Free File program lets qualified taxpayers prepare and file federal income tax returns online using guided tax preparation software.

Faculty, staff and students can also visit their local library for tax preparation services and resources.

Financial Literacy

The Financial Literacy Workshop Series offers live and on-demand webinars available to UF faculty, staff and students aimed at increasing financial literacy and developing healthier financial habits.
