Whether you need information on bereavement leave, emotional support or practical advice, the Employee Assistance Program is here for you. Your well-being is our priority, and we hope these resources offer some comfort and aid as you cope with your loss.

UF Policies

Bereavement Leave Policy
Learn about the bereavement policies available to UF employees experiencing the death of an immediate family member.
Flexible Work Arrangements
Flexible and remote work options are available to most faculty and staff, offering alternative approaches to when, where and how work is performed.
FMLA
The Family and Medical Leave Act is a federal law in the United States that allows eligible employees to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave for specific family or medical reasons without risking job loss.
Paid Family Leave
UF's Paid Family Leave program provides flexibility during major life events and offers 8 full weeks of leave over a 24-month period for qualifying events.
Sick Leave
Sick leave can be approved for various reasons and used for up to 30 days due to illness, injury, or death within an employee’s immediate family, pending supervisory approval.
